Artist Statement
Matthew G. Beall (°1962, California, United States) makes paintings and fine art photographs.
My paintings tend not to reference recognizable form. The results are deconstructed to the extent that meaning is shifted and possible interpretation becomes multifaceted. By exploring many different concepts, ideas, and thoughts of what I see in the world, I strive to paint intense personal moments masterfully created by means of rules and omissions, acceptance and refusal, requiring the viewer to interpret the paintings for him/herself.
Matthew G. Beall currently lives and works in Ulm, Germany and the Central Coast of California.
